Just wanted to post something bright and cheerful against these harshly cold, dark days. I'm also enjoying strawberry and raspberry tea, Moomins, cuddles, blankets, buying things from VX and Housmans, reading, writing letters. What things are cheering you through winter? Also, if anyone would like to recommendme some films and music to lighten this season, love to hear from you.
Tiny chocolate Teddy bear! Bought for me by my beau as a present on my returning from being away. I can't bear (oops!) to eat it, it's too perfect and cute! A friend brought this back from her Japanese holiday for me. Its bright colours cheer me up. Wonderfully colourful button-style magnets, from a friend, for Christmas.

I cannot resist posting photos of my parents' tiny new puppy! Don't be fooled by the sleeping! She is ludicrously lively when awake! I met her for first time, and she was climbing up to be on my shoulder, and scrambling with paws for all my jewellery, plus she does this cute thing of clawing at the ties of my hoodie! She is the sweetest little creature ever, and I absolutely adore her, and miss her too much. The best is having her cuddle right up to me on the sofa to sleep, she's so warm and so soft. And I love picking her up, as you only need one hand to collect her.
The winter skies of recent months have been stunning. The sun does not rise until roughly 8am mornings, but there have been such rosy red discs of glory. And when dusk closes in, the bright clear skies of November and December have been so awe-inspiring. The above is Brompton Cemetery, in London. There was no frost out on the streets and roads, but on the stone statues, gravestones, and grass, the frost iced things over white and thick. Dusk was eerily splendid. I loved capturing this - the grand stone arch framing a view of the sunset, trees, and to the left, Fulham football ground. Birds in the trees, against the most perfect hued sky.
