I like how playful and fun the magazine is - the front cover invites you to a feature involving hide and seek, and there is plenty of innocence and care-free fun and escape - also there are lots of incredibly beautifully illustrated moments, recipes, music playlists, stories, anecdotes, interviews, and the letters page is so lovingly done, with drawings and hand-written letters from smitten readers, the pages sometimes resemble really lovely, lovingly done fanzines. It's not an atypical female magazine, and if big name mainstream magazines were to credit its readers with intelligence and curiosity for the artful as Oh, Comely does, and to concentrate on wonderful and positive things of interest in such a varied and interested way, instead of tittle tattle and trying to make us have negative body image and emulate idiotic/shallow behaviour, we would have a much more content society, I think.
So go to Housmans and behold this and the awe-inspiring range of other magazines they have on sale, too.
